Beech is one of the most commonly used hardwoods. It is imported from various European countries like Germany, Serbia and Romania. It is a light-colored timber. However, it is usually treated in steam and its colour turns to reddish pink. Although a strong timber it is not very durable. Its uses are innumerable ranging from traditional woodworking including furniture, joinery and flooring to domestic wood ware, shoe heels, toys, tool handles and much more.
