Ipé is a very durable wood with an excellent rot resistance and weathering characteristics, combined with good dimensional stability, which makes it well suited for outdoor flooring applications.
Iroko is a durable wood, not susceptible to attack by fungi and borers. Due to its high durability, iroko is considered suitable for exposure to weather.

Fresh cut, the heartwood of Tatajuba is yellow, strongly darkening to dark brown. The 30-40 mm wide sapwood is pale yellow and fairly well to distinguish.
