Softwood is the term used to describe woods from coniferous trees. Softwoods have a cellular structure which is of a lower form of plant life than hardwoods and consist of tracheid. Commercially, softwoods are used in a wide variety of applications which have to do more with construction, joinery and packaging and include such trees as pine, spruce, fir, cedar and larch.
Softwood forms a significant sector of our business and as such we utilise our extensive experience and long-established agreements with the best sawmills in Sweden, Finland, Russia, Romania and Slovakia to be able to hold a comprehensive range of softwood in the best combination of quality, reliability and value.
Softwood is often separated in Whitewood and Redwood and our range comprises of both.
