Cherry is imported from Canada and USA. It is a strong timber species, which is moderately durable. It has a beautiful grain and colour varying from reddish brown to rich red, which makes it preferable for use in sophisticated joinery and furniture but is also used for musical instruments, tobacco pipes and boat interiors.
